Micky Axton is "Miss Micky"… Drawn to flying during the barnstorming 20’s she was one of the first women to become a test pilot during World War II. She was educated to become a pilot, recruited into the WASP by Jacqueline Cochran, became a test pilot in WWII, and was the first woman to fly the B-29.

On July 1, 2009 the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives recognized the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP’s) and passed public law 111-40 to award them a Congressional Gold Medal.
