An existential brief on life, the boundaries people impose, and what is expected or perceived to be expected. The idea for this video came after reading Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka but could equally be attributed to works of Herman Hesse on what people do. In any case we had 2 or 3 days to figure out idea and produce this… my wife and I in a Montreal coffee shop that is.

Hopping for Brew

Hopping for Brew is a story, and award winning documentary at Wildwood Film Festival, about the renewed efforts to grow hops in Wisconsin, the groups & cooperatives supporting these new growers, and the distribution of locally grown hops to craft brewers around the state. The story goes from roots (rhizomes) to the 30′ plants filled with bitter bud that are processed and distributed to brewers for making beer.

Participants in this video include Simple Earth Hops, folks from the Wisconsin Hop Exchange, Gorst Valley Hops, The Grumpy Troll Brewery, Vintage Brewing Co, and a fun little song I found to end it with from Beatnik Turtle.

Vintage Brewery in Madison Wisconsin brews a lot of interesting beers. This is mostly about Drunkin Pumpkin, a barrel age pumpkin ale, that will be ready for this coming Halloween. Scott Manning, the brewmaster, talks about that and other barrel aging beers.
