This is a makeshift repair, a temporary fix, or an out of warranty quick fix for a Toro SR4 lawnmower that runs poorly (spitting an sputtering) and has throttle or speed limiter problem. This is a jury rig type fix that I was forced into when the mechanic, at the place I bought the mower from, treated me like crap, wouldn’t listen to me, criticized me, and almost claimed the problem was me. His solutions were wrong and I pretty much knew it, but what do you say to an arrogant mechanic. For me it was “Bye” not buy.

The fix is very simple by adding a short piece of wire to replace the spring. It keeps the throttle in one position where the motor runs best. You can find the proper setting by adjusting the throttle till the engine runs smoothly – which is demonstrated in the video. I don’t recommend this fix, especially if the mower is still under warranty, but it works.

Shipping jobs to the far east, or China has become a business trend for 2000. This video started out as a simple "had a good day" video, but my vision isn't so bad that I could help but look around and question… Why is this big factory warehouse empty? Why are these small businesses in this big empty warehouse, and who really create new jobs – big companies or small ones?

My observation over the past 40 years has been that small companies innovate, create new companies, and new jobs, while the big corporations buy out these small companies at peak value, layoff a lot of their employees, then centralize the management and labor to increase profits – or ship the jobs to far east.

This stop for a beer turned into an eye opener as I realize that small companies like the Pearl Street Brewery, Boot Hill Pub, and other small businesses have created new jobs as others moved to China. LaCrosse just happened to be the place and day my eyes opened up.
